Daisuke was a young trainer who abandoned his Charmander, leaving the pokémon to fend for itself in the wild. Ash eventually found the injured creature and took it in, making it one of his most iconic team members. Daisuke himself doesn't appear much in the series, but he's remembered as the guy who gave up on his pokémon—a pretty harsh introduction to what happens when trainers don't take care of their responsibilities.
