Drama club president and a third-year student. Hori's got serious acting chops and used to perform regularly in plays until his height became an issue—something that clearly still bothers him. Now he handles props instead, which would be fine if Kashima wasn't constantly ditching club activities. Keeping her in line has basically become his full-time job, and he does it so aggressively that people have started calling him "Kashima's Escort." Fans often note that despite all his complaints about her, he acts like an overprotective parent; there's definitely something going on there beneath the surface, no matter how hard he denies it.
On top of everything else, he pulls double duty as Nozaki's assistant, managing backgrounds for the manga work. He's naturally talented in math and physics.
