Hanako Hashimoto is the daughter of Shoukichi Hashimoto and made her first appearance in the Shonen Magazine story Hakusanbou. Though she's known as Hanako in the original material, the character was renamed Haruko for the third anime adaptation and later changed again to Akane for the fourth series.
