Piggymaru is the slime companion Mimori Touka meets after escaping the goddess's dungeon. When Mimori first found him, Piggymaru was getting roughed up by other slimes—seeing him struggle and fight back struck a chord with Mimori, who recognized something of himself in the little guy and decided to save him.
Bright and eager, Piggymaru's always ready to jump into the fray for his friends. He's genuinely sensitive too, able to pick up on when the group's spirits are low and do what he can to lift them back up or welcome new members into the fold. Early on, he had real doubts about his own worth and basically threw himself into helping Mimori out of fear of being abandoned. But spending time with Mimori and eventually the rest of the crew taught him to actually trust their friendship instead of constantly trying to prove himself.
What's more, he's shown genuine courage when it counts. He's fought alongside Mimori against serious threats—going up against Civit Garland and the Black Dragon Knights, or standing with him against hordes of golden-eyed monsters when their companions needed protection. For a slime, he's got guts.
