Touka Mimori, a loner, gets summoned to another world along with his entire class. His power lets him inflict status effects like paralysis and poison on enemies, but since these skills have such low success rates, nobody considers them worth anything. He's immediately branded an E-rank hero—the lowest of the low. To make matters worse, the goddess Vicius who brought them there announces that the weakest hero will be executed to prevent dead weight from dragging down the talented ones. Touka gets exiled to a brutal, monster-infested region where he nearly dies after getting trapped by a minotaur. Desperate and out of options, he finally uses his "useless" status effect skill—and discovers it actually works almost every single time. With the ability to completely disable any monster in his path, he decides to hunt down Vicius and make her pay for abandoning him.
