Mitsuyoshi is Haru's cousin and basically fills a father figure role in his life, which Haru clearly appreciates—he even calls him "Mi-chan." The two are close enough that Mitsuyoshi regularly tags along on trips with Haru and his friends. Through hanging around this group, he eventually catches the eye of Asako Natsume.
