Ginshi Shirazu is a Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator best known as the leader of the Quinx Squad. He's a Quinx—part of the CCG's experimental program to give humans ghoul abilities—and fights with an Ukaku-type RC organ.
Shirazu joined the squad for practical reasons: his father's suicide left him responsible for his hospitalized sister Haru, and he needed the money for her treatment. It's the kind of motivation that defines him—straightforward, driven by family obligation rather than any grand ideology.
He's got a solid relationship with his mentor Haise Sasaki, respecting him genuinely despite being easily swayed by his squad mate Urie. In fact, Urie manipulates him fairly easily, which points to one of Shirazu's defining traits: he's not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to academics or investigation work. He admits as much himself, and it shows. He's loud, quick to get fired up, and tends toward exaggerated reactions. Urie has flat-out called him simple-minded, and there's some truth to it.
That said, Sasaki saw something in him worth promoting to squad leader—a genuine consideration for his teammates and solid situational awareness beneath all the noise. When he's around Mutsuki or talking to civilians, he drops the aggressive act and shows he actually cares. The contradiction's pretty clear: he's rough and violent on the surface, but he thinks about his team.
He's also harboring a pretty obvious crush on Akira Mado, his superior at the CCG. He calls her the "Holy Mother," and yeah, the rest of the squad has definitely noticed.
