Padparadscha is best known for patrol work, though they're currently inactive. They were created with an incomplete torso, which has some pretty significant effects on how they experience consciousness. Rutile is their partner and basically keeps them functioning health-wise.
Despite their physical limitations, Padparadscha comes across as genuinely laid-back—but there's more going on under the surface than they typically let on. They're aware of how much the other Gems worry about them, and honestly, it bothers them. They'd prefer everyone just. stop fussing. Ideally, they'd like to spend more time sleeping, partly as a way to avoid being a burden on the others.
