Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Madoka Kaname wakes up from a strange dream featuring an injured girl and an odd creature. That same day, a new transfer student named Homura Akemi joins her class—and she's the exact girl from Madoka's dream. Later, Madoka hears desperate cries in her mind and discovers Kyuubey, the cat-like creature from her dream, lying hurt. When she finds Homura there too, it's clear her new classmate attacked the thing. Assuming the worst, Madoka grabs Kyuubey and bolts with her best friend Sayaka Miki. Once they're safe, Kyuubey makes them an offer: become a magical girl, and he'll grant any wish they want. Sounds perfect, right? Except it's not that simple. The cost of their wishes turns out to be way higher than they bargained for.
