Synopsis

Ageha Yoshina is a confident high schooler who makes money helping people out. One day he stumbles across a weird calling card with "Psyren" written on it in a phone booth and figures it might be worth keeping. The next day, he's shocked to find out his classmate Sakurako Amamiya has the exact same card. When he asks her about it, she begs him to save her—and that's when his life gets complicated. Sakurako vanishes shortly after, and a desperate Ageha decides to call the number on the card. A mysterious voice puts him through a series of questions before asking the final one: "Would you like to go to Psyren?" Without fully understanding what he's agreeing to, Ageha gets pulled into a deadly game in a bizarre world filled with creatures called Taboo. He and Sakurako both develop psychic powers—PSI—and have to fight their way through this nightmare if they ever want to make it home.
