Synopsis

Hell runs like clockwork thanks to Hoozuki, the sharp-tongued chief deputy who keeps Lord Enma's bureaucracy humming. Whether he's counseling the legendary Momotarou or smoothing over diplomatic tensions between different religious underworlds, Hoozuki's the one actually running things—and he's got zero patience for incompetence. This guy's a master of micromanagement and corporate negotiation wrapped into one terrifying package. He'll verbally eviscerate anyone who gets in his way, all while maintaining that creepy composure. The show follows his day-to-day headaches managing a staff pulled straight out of Japanese folklore and East Asian mythology, now working as middle managers in hell's byzantine system. It's basically a dark comedy about office politics, except your coworkers are ancient demons and legendary figures, and your boss is literally the judge of human souls. The constant culture clashes between different mythological traditions, the anachronistic setup, and the sheer absurdity of applying corporate logic to eternal punishment make for some genuinely funny chaos. Managing hell turns out to be just as much of a nightmare as you'd expect.
