Synopsis

Kurogane Yaiba is a samurai who's really good at one thing: swinging a sword. That's basically it. He lives in the forest with his dad, Kenjurou, until the day some gorillas attack and they end up hiding in a box full of pineapples—which promptly gets shipped to the city. Once Yaiba hits civilization, he discovers he's supposedly a legendary warrior destined to fight the evil Takeshi, a demonic-looking high school student. Along the way, he picks up friends who train him, inspire him, and generally help him grow into his potential. He's still fundamentally a kid though—incredibly skilled with a blade but also genuinely kind-hearted, which is great until his impulsiveness and sheer obliviousness turn potential allies into enemies. Fortunately, his friends are always around to smack some sense into him and fix whatever mess he's created. The group goes on wild adventures meeting legendary figures from Japanese history and facing increasingly impossible odds, all while working toward saving the planet from something genuinely otherworldly. It's the usual stuff: love, friendship, hard work, and never giving up.
