Synopsis

Five death row inmates escape from prisons across America, the UK, Japan, and Russia, all converging on Tokyo with the same twisted goal: to test themselves against the world's strongest fighters and finally experience defeat. Seventeen-year-old Baki Hanma is already obsessed with becoming strong enough to challenge his father Yuujirou, widely considered the most powerful fighter alive. He's bored with school but gets a real reason to focus when he starts dating Kozue Matsumoto. That peace doesn't last long—the escaped convicts start tearing through Tokyo, and their brutal power becomes impossible to ignore. To deal with the threat, Baki teams up with his yakuza associate Kaoru Hanayama, his rival Retsu Kaiou, his trainer Doppo Orochi, and the elderly jujitsu master Gouki Shibukawa. The five agree to hunt down and defeat the escaped prisoners. But now Baki has to protect Kozue from these killers while also trying to prove himself against increasingly strong opponents—all while his father watches from the sidelines, waiting to see if his son is finally worthy of his attention.
