Dororo
Lord Daigo Kagemitsu made a horrifying deal with 48 demons, trading away his newborn son's body parts for power and wealth. He dumped what was left of the child into a river and never thought about him again, going on to build himself a prosperous kingdom. But the boy survived. Despite having no eyes, ears, limbs, or voice, he possessed an otherworldly spiritual awareness that let him sense and navigate the world around him anyway. A compassionate doctor found him and took him in, raising him as his own son and calling him Hyakkimaru. The doctor equipped him with sophisticated prosthetics so he could move and fight like a normal person. Unfortunately, Hyakkimaru's very existence attracted demons wherever he went—eventually the doctor had no choice but to send him out into the world on his own. That's when Hyakkimaru realized something: killing demons let him reclaim the body parts he'd lost. So he set off on a mission to slay enough of them to become whole again. On the road, he meets Dororo, a street kid who fancies himself the world's greatest thief. Dororo basically forces his way into traveling with Hyakkimaru, mostly because he wants to steal his sword. The two end up journeying through a land crawling with demons and cutthroats—and honestly, the human monsters might be just as dangerous as the supernatural ones.
