Junpei Murao first falls in love with ballet after watching his older sister perform. He's mesmerized by a male dancer on stage, and it inspires him to start learning seriously—pestering his sister for lessons and eventually joining a ballet class. His friends tease him relentlessly, and his father pushes back hard, insisting he pick something more masculine. But Junpei doesn't care; ballet is what he loves. That changes when his father dies of a heart attack. Grief-stricken, Junpei abandons ballet entirely and throws himself into Jeet Kune Do instead—the martial art Bruce Lee made famous. It's what his dad would've wanted, and trying to honor that wish becomes his focus. Cut to middle school, and Junpei's living the life his father dreamed for him. One day he's showing off his Jeet Kune Do skills when he spontaneously blends it with ballet moves, landing an incredible kick. Miyako Godai, a classmate, sees this and immediately recruits him—pretty much dragging him to her mother's ballet studio to compete. Suddenly Junpei's caught between two worlds again. As he gets pulled deeper back into ballet, he's forced to navigate the tension between who everyone expects him to be and what he actually wants.
