Synopsis

Mazinger Angels follows four women piloting giant robots in the Mazinger style, playing off the whole Charlie's Angels vibe from the late 70s and early 80s. Three of the mechas come straight from the original Mazinger Z—Aphrodite A, Diana A, and Minerva X—while Venus A is pulled from Great Mazinger. The pilots are classic Go Nagai characters: Sayaka Yumi and Jun Hono from the first two series, plus Hikaru Makiba and Maria Fleed from Grendizer. The manga leans pretty hard into the sex appeal of both the characters and their robots, with a visual style that's not unlike how Aika tends to handle its female cast.
