Synopsis

Siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert live together at their farm, Green Gables, in the small town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island. They decide to adopt an orphan boy to help out around the place, but due to a mix-up, they end up with Anne Shirley instead—an eleven-year-old girl who's anything but what they bargained for. Anne is sharp and eager to please, but she's got a lot of opinions, especially about her own appearance: her red braids, her freckled face, and basically everything about how she looks. What she lacks in conventional charm, though, she makes up for in imagination and pure joy. She quickly settles into island life and thrives in her new home.
