A mysterious foreigner washes up on a beach in Edo-period Japan, in an area controlled by the Shinsengumi. The locals call him "Yankee," and he quickly bonds with Souji Okita, the group's leader. As their friendship deepens and they prove themselves as formidable fighters together, the Shinsengumi finds itself dealing with threats that push them to expand their power across Japan. Okita and Yankee are sent out to take on these enemies and help the Shinsengumi solidify their grip on the country.
