Synopsis

Coco's always been obsessed with magic and witches, even though they go to crazy lengths to keep their techniques secret. When she manages to catch the skilled witch Qifrey in the act, she discovers that her favorite childhood picture book was actually a disguised spellbook. Unable to resist, she immediately starts casting spells left and right. Things go south fast when one spell nearly destroys her home, but Qifrey arrives just in time to save her. Instead of being mad, he decides to take her on as an apprentice—he's been looking for a lead on the Brimmed Caps, a group of rogue witches who mess with dangerous body-altering magic and smuggle magical artifacts to regular people. Before Coco and Qifrey can take them on though, she's got a lot to learn. She'll need to actually get good at magic and figure out how to work with Qifrey's other apprentices.
