Kentarou Tachibana, a former Olympic badminton player, returns to coach at Kitakomachi High School with genuine passion for the sport—but the school's badminton club is basically a disaster. The team keeps losing members because their best player, Nagisa Aragaki, runs brutal practices that push everyone to their breaking point. Nagisa's intense, moody approach works for her as a player, but it's terrible for team morale. Things change when Ayano Hanesaki joins the club. She's naturally talented at badminton, which should be great, except she absolutely hates the sport. As it turns out, Nagisa's bad attitude makes a lot more sense now—Ayano completely crushed her at the National Junior Tournament six months ago, shutting her out without letting her score a single point. So now these two are stuck on the same team, and they both have some serious baggage to work through. If they can get past their issues with badminton and each other, they might actually turn the club into something worthwhile.
