Yuuhi Amamiya's ordinary college life gets turned upside down when a talking lizard named Sir Noi Crezant shows up with some wild news: a mage called Animus is planning to destroy Earth with a massive orbital weapon called the Biscuit Hammer, and the only way to stop him is through a princess and her Beast Knights. Yuuhi gets recruited as the Lizard Beast Knight, and after barely surviving an attack from one of Animus' golems, he's saved by his neighbor Samidare Asahina—who turns out to be the princess. He pledges himself to her cause. But there's a catch. Samidare doesn't actually want to save the world. She just wants to stop Animus from destroying it first so she can destroy it herself. As the other Beast Knights gradually show up and learn to use their powers, Yuuhi finds himself fighting alongside this girl while wrestling with an impossible choice: follow her ambitions or actually try to save humanity. Along the way, he's forced to figure out who he really is and what he actually stands for.
