On rainy mornings, high school student Takao Akizuki ditches class to hang out in a beautiful garden tucked away in the middle of Tokyo. He's got dreams of becoming a shoemaker, so he spends his time sketching shoe designs. One day, while he's there drawing, he meets Yukari Yukino—a quiet, sad-looking woman who immediately catches his attention. They never actually introduce themselves, but they keep showing up at the same spot and gradually get comfortable around each other. As the rainy season winds down though, both of them have to face some hard truths about what they really want. They need to find the courage to go their separate ways and chase their own dreams.
