Synopsis

Fifteen years ago, a hyperspace gate opened up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and connected Earth to another world—one filled with fairies and monsters. Over two million of these otherworldly beings ended up settling in San-Teresa, turning it into a booming metropolis almost overnight. The massive population surge came with all the usual problems: drugs, prostitution, human trafficking. The city's authorities responded by creating a specialized department within the San-Teresa Metropolitan Police to deal with the crime wave. Kei Matoba is one of the department's top cops—a former JSDF soldier who's good at his job, even if he's not always by-the-book about it. When a fairy trafficking operation goes sideways, Kei's partner and friend of four years, Rick Fury, gets killed. The loss sends Kei down a path of vengeance. To help him pursue the case, his superiors assign him Tilarna Exedilika, a noble from the Farbani Kingdom and one of their Knights of Mirvor. Her official mission is to recover a noble fairy connected to Kei's investigation. Kei isn't thrilled about working with a non-human, but he doesn't have much choice. Now these two have to put aside their differences and work together to bring the fairy home—and get justice for Kei's dead partner.
