After the events of Tales of Xillia, the barrier between Liese Maxia and Elenpios crumbles, merging the two worlds into one. However, the people don't integrate as smoothly. Tensions run high, especially among Elenpians, leading to the rise of a terrorist organization called Exodus determined to sabotage any chance of peace between the worlds. The story follows Ludger Will Kresnik, a young guy living in a modest apartment in Elenpios with his brother, a high-ranking agent at Clanspia Corp.—Elenpios's massive corporate powerhouse. After flunking the entrance exam to join the company, Ludger settles for work as a chef at the train station's cafeteria instead.
