Akira Natsume is just your average teenager—except for one thing: he's terrified of anything electronic. His older brother Shuuichi is the complete opposite, excelling at everything, so Akira decides he wants to get his act together and follow his example. That plan gets derailed pretty quick when a truck hits him while he's trying to save a girl from some thugs. He wakes up 16 years later inside a machine. Yeah, you read that right. Turns out his brain is now the core of an EX-ARM, basically a walking weapon of mass destruction. A cop named Minami Uezono and her android partner Alma fill him in on the situation—they're actually on an enemy smuggler ship right now trying to extract him. Once Akira gets over the initial shock, he figures out how to actually use all that power. He ends up joining the EX-ARM Countermeasure Division, the police unit that deals with crimes involving these weapons. Taking on that job might be his best shot at figuring out what the hell happened to him in the first place.
