Synopsis

There's a long-standing blood feud between descendants of Momotarou and Oni. The Momotarou serve as protectors of the human world, keeping the chaotic and destructive Oni in check. Shiki Ichinose is a typical delinquent teenager—reckless, defiant, even proud of getting expelled from school. But his foster father Tsuyoshi genuinely cares about him despite all the trouble. That care gets put to the test when a Momotarou tracks Shiki down. It turns out Tsuyoshi is a Momotarou himself and has been hiding Shiki's true Oni heritage for years. When Tsuyoshi sacrifices himself to protect Shiki, revealing everything with his last breath, something awakens inside the kid. Shiki's Oni blood takes over completely, transforming him into a raging, vengeful monster he can barely recognize. The explosion of power catches the eye of Naito Mudano, an Oni teacher at Rasetsu Academy—basically a school for young Oni to learn control and master their abilities. If Shiki wants any chance at avenging his father, he'll first have to get a handle on his own impulsive nature and, more importantly, come to terms with what his demonic blood makes him capable of.
