Yoshida, a regular office worker, has been secretly in love with his coworker Airi Gotou for five years. When he finally gets the chance to confess, she shoots him down. That same night, drunk and wallowing in rejection, he finds a high school girl sitting alone on the roadside. She comes on to him, offering sex in exchange for somewhere to sleep, but he turns her down—though he does let her crash at his place anyway. The next morning, she introduces herself as Sayu Ogiwara and explains that she ran away from Hokkaido to Tokyo six months ago.
