Michael Rivas grew up in Hawaii with an American father and Japanese mother, making him bilingual from the start. He eventually moved to Japan to pursue creative work across multiple fields—he's done anime production, voiced characters for Japanese TV, and built a presence as a musician and MC.

On YouTube (mrivasmusic), he regularly posts original songs and music videos. Beyond that, his skill set is pretty broad. He can sing, play guitar, drums, and trumpet. He's also worked as a reporter and voice actor, and handles translation and interpreting work as well.
