Ezura Hisashi (born 1967) started out as an animator, making a name for himself through detailed effects work on his drawings. As digital production technology advanced, he shifted focus almost entirely to creating and directing digital effects—something he's genuinely committed to perfecting.

He's been working at Production I.G., where he, director Kitakubo Hiroyuki, and animator Kiyozumi Norifumi played major roles in pushing the studio's digital cinematography techniques forward. Fans of the studio's work often credit these three with helping define its visual style during that period.
