Oomiya Teiji
Born November 22, 1928 in Hachiouji, Tokyo, Oomiya Teiji built a career as a voice and dramatic actor, becoming something of a fixture in 1970s anime as the go-to voice for kind old men. He studied at Nihon University but didn't finish his degree. When he passed away in 1994, he was an active member of the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society.
Beyond acting, Oomiya was a serious kendoka who reached 3-dan ranking. He died of colorectal cancer on December 23, 1994, at age 66.
