The Grand Bishop served as both the spiritual leader of the Terraist Church and Terra's de facto ruler. The man holding the position by 796 UC was elderly and would prove to be the last Grand Bishop—the Church's headquarters got destroyed by the New Galactic Empire in 799 UC, and the institution itself collapsed not long after in 801 UC.
