Asuka Sakai is a composer from Hokkaido, Japan who's best known for her work scoring games and anime. She studied at Kunitachi College of Music before heading to Italy to train under Luis Bacalov at the Chigiana Musical Academy in Siena—picking up film scoring techniques from the prolific Argentino-Italian composer.
She's released a couple of albums on IRMA records, though her main focus these days is composing for video games and anime productions. Her game credits include work on Ace Combat 3, Ridge Racer Type 4, Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil, Katamari Damacy, and Soul Calibur II, among others.
Worth noting: Sakai typically gets credited just as "sakai asuka" rather than her full name in kanji, so she can be easy to miss in the credits roll.
