Yamada is a Japanese actor and singer who got his start young—discovered by Stardust at 15 and debuting in the TV drama Psychometrer Eiji 2 in 1999. He's got two older sisters and a son.

His breakthrough came around the mid-2000s. He landed a notable role in the 2004 TBS series Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu as Matsumoto Sakutaro, but it was the 2005 film Densha Otoko that really made his name stick. From there, his filmography filled up with a solid mix of projects—he's appeared in Taiyou no Uta, the drama The Letter opposite Erika Sawajiri, and has taken on roles in films like Crows Zero, Ikigami, and M.W.
