Takayuki Hattori comes from serious musical pedigree—his grandfather was composer Ryoichi Hattori and his father was composer Katsuhisa Hattori. He started out arranging music for Masashi Sada before landing his breakthrough composing gig on Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994), stepping in after Akira Ifukube passed on the opportunity.
Since then, Hattori's become known for his range. He's scored everything from comedies like Welcome Back, Mr. McDonald (1997) to Toei's live-action GTO film adaptation, and plenty in between. His filmography is pretty all over the place genre-wise, which seems to be exactly how he likes it.
