Real Name: Horikawa Kotoko (堀川 ことこ)
Hometown: Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan
Blood Type: A
Kotoko is a Japanese J-pop singer best known for her work on anime and video game soundtracks. She got her start in 2000 as a member of I've Sound, the prolific music label behind countless anime themes. Over the years she's contributed to huge franchises like Shakugan no Shana, Accel World, Hayate the Combat Butler, and Maria-sama ga Miteru, among many others. She also writes and composes for other artists on the label, making her a behind-the-scenes fixture in the anime music world.
Career-wise, she signed with Rondorobe under Geneon from 2004 to 2010, then moved to Warner Home Video in 2011. She left I've Sound the same year she switched labels, though her connection to the studio's catalog remains huge.
When she's not working on music, Kotoko's into the usual creative pursuits—sketching (especially portraits), writing poetry, and flower arrangement. She's also weirdly into collecting cute stuff and loves hunting for snacks while working. Movies with plot twists are her thing, and she'll spend hours ordering things online. Beyond that, she bowls, skis, and apparently rides rollercoasters whenever possible.
