Puffy (stylized as PUFFY in Japan, officially Puffy AmiYumi internationally) is a Japanese rock duo on Sony Music Japan's roster. They perform in both Japanese and English, and adopted the "AmiYumi" suffix outside Japan specifically to dodge legal issues with Sean Combs.
The group consists of Ami Onuki (stage name Jane) and Yumi Yoshimura (stage name Sue). Sony-affiliated talent scouts put them together in the mid-90s, and they hit it big in 1998 when their album Jet dropped and they toured behind it. Their debut single "Asia no Junshin" was massive—it sold over a million copies alone. Since then they've stayed on top, with 14 million total sales across Japan from their various full-length releases.
