ZUN
Real Name: 太田順也 (Jun'ya Ota)
ZUN is the creator behind the Touhou Project—basically the entire thing. He's the sole member of Team Shanghai Alice, handling design, programming, scripts, and music composition. The series became hugely popular, especially in doujin circles and online communities, though ZUN himself stays pretty under the radar. Not much is publicly known about him beyond the fact that he's a self-described beer enthusiast.
Before becoming a full-time indie game developer, he worked at Taito Corporation, where he contributed to various arcade and console titles. These days he's best known for keeping Touhou going as a one-man operation, continuing to release new entries and content.
He's notoriously private and rarely does interviews or public appearances, which has only added to the mystique around him. Fans have spent years piecing together what little information exists.
