Synopsis

In Gensokyo, a hidden magical realm, Reimu Hakurei works as a shrine maiden to keep the peace between humans and youkai—supernatural creatures that cause trouble when left unchecked. Every summer, she throws a banquet that draws everyone from ordinary people to the most powerful youkai around. The trouble starts the morning of the festival when Reimu's donation box vanishes without a trace. No signs of a break-in, nothing. As she teams up with her friend Marisa and reporter Aya to figure out what happened, they discover other people are missing things too. The more they dig into it, the clearer it becomes: this isn't just petty theft. It's a full-blown incident—something major, on the level of previous supernatural catastrophes like Remilia Scarlet's mist or Yuyuko Saigyouji's cursed cherry blossoms.
