Kyusaku Shimada is probably best remembered for playing Kato Yasunori in the live-action fantasy films Tokyo: The Last Megalopolis and its sequel Tokyo: The Last War. He brought the character back for the anime adaptation, Doomed Megalopolis, and also voiced roles in the anime Shura no Toki: Age of Chaos.

In the Kingdom Hearts series, Shimada provided the Japanese voice for Hades across both the original game and Kingdom Hearts II. Interestingly, his portrayal of Kato reportedly influenced the design of M. Bison in Street Fighter—the character ended up being based on Shimada's take on the role.
