Mizuki Ito grew up in Nara and now works out of Kyoto. He picked up digital animation on his own while going through design school, and started working as a key animator on local TV productions during that time.
After graduation, he bounced between freelance animation work while simultaneously developing his own projects—stuff that felt more personally meaningful than straightforward commercial work. His debut film, "Takano Intersection," was based on a script by his mentor Hideto Nakata (SOVAT THEATER), but Ito handled basically everything else: direction, character design, storyboards, animation, sound, and editing.
These days he's focused on making his own original work rather than chasing animation gigs. He's currently developing his next project.
