Synopsis

Yuusuke Urameshi is a 14-year-old punk with pretty much nowhere to go in life—until the day he impulsively jumps in front of a car to save some random kid. The spirit realm's rulers are so shocked by this uncharacteristic act of heroism that they're not ready to let him die just yet. Koenma, the heir to the spirit world, cuts him a deal: complete a series of tasks and he can come back to life. With help from Botan, a death god, Yuusuke becomes a Spirit Detective, hunting down supernatural threats on Earth. He ends up recruiting Kuwabara, his old rival, along with two demons named Hiei and Kurama who've both got criminal records. The unlikely team trains together and fights enemies strong enough to actually threaten humanity's survival.
