Raised by Dr. Umon, he takes on the name Daisuke Umon and lives as a normal kid—until King Vega's forces show up, intent on conquering Earth. Determined to fight back alongside his friends Koji and Hikaru, Duke pilots Grendizer, a powerful robot, to protect the planet. His younger sister Maria Grace later joins the fight as well.
