Alain used to work as an assistant to Professor Sycamore in Lumiose City, but he left to pursue his real goal: mastering Mega Evolution with his Charizard. Investigating this mysterious power at the request of the mysterious Lysandre, Alain travels across Kalos and Hoenn looking for other trainers who can Mega Evolve, both to improve himself and to help with Lysandre's research. Along the way, a young girl named Mairin and her Chespin catch up with him and decide to tag along—much to Alain's annoyance. Pokémon XY: Mega Evolution follows Alain and Charizard as they work toward becoming the strongest Mega Evolution users around. But they're not just training—they're also battling legendary Pokémon and dealing with threats that could endanger everyone Alain cares about, all while advancing Lysandre's mysterious agenda.
