Synopsis

Ippo's held onto his Japanese Featherweight title with another win courtesy of his signature Dempsey Roll—but the challengers keep coming, and they're getting smarter about it. Everyone's hunting for a counter to his most devastating weapon, and Ippo's starting to wonder if relying on it is making him weaker instead of stronger. Meanwhile, his gym mate Aoki's finally within striking distance of his own title shot at the Japanese Lightweight Championship. Hajime no Ippo: Rising picks up with Ippo pushing himself harder as he chases what it really means to be strong. The crew from Kamogawa Gym is back, same loveable goofballs as always, grinding through the brutal world of professional boxing with everything they've got. Ippo's got the drive and the will—now he just needs to prove he can survive what comes next.
