Synopsis

A socially withdrawn bookworm convinced that nobody cares about him and that he doesn't care about anyone else—until he finds a handwritten diary titled Living with Dying. It belongs to Sakura Yamauchi, his popular and energetic classmate, who reveals she's dying of pancreatic cancer. Only her family knows; even her best friends are clueless. He doesn't really feel bad for her at first, but Sakura's relentless cheerfulness wears him down, and he eventually agrees to spend her remaining time with her. As these two opposites get closer, her unpredictable energy starts chipping away at his cold detachment. Through the moments they share, he gradually learns what it actually means to live.
