Synopsis

Humanity barely survived a devastating war with giant aliens called the Zentradi. Now they're rebuilding aboard the Macross Frontier, a massive fleet heading toward the galactic center. Things have settled into a routine—until they haven't. It's 2059 when pilot trainee Alto Saotome and his squad are supposed to back up pop star Sheryl Nome at her concert. The performance gets cut short when an insectoid alien species called the Vajra smash through the ship's defenses and crash near the venue. The city descends into complete chaos. As people panic and evacuate, a young girl named Ranka Lee gets separated from the crowd and nearly killed by the Vajra—but Alto rescues her just in time. His heroics don't go unnoticed. The military sees what he can do and promptly recruits him to help fight off this new threat.
