Synopsis

When people stop fearing death, ordinary folks trying to do right don't stand much of a chance. Under a full moon, a boy watches bandits who enslaved him get killed by a mysterious man, who then gives him a new name: Kenshin Himura. He's destined to become a swordsman, but his gentle nature clashes with the violence the job demands—even if his determination to protect people is unwavering. This prequel follows Kenshin before he became the legendary assassin Hitokiri Battousai, before he took his oath never to kill again. It shows how he got pulled into a world where he's caught between doing what's right and going down a darker path, all while his choices end up shaping the fate of an entire nation.
