Synopsis

Mahiro Yasaka is your typical high school student until a monster attacks him out of nowhere. He's saved in the nick of time by Nyaruko, a silver-haired girl who claims to be Nyarlathotep—the shape-shifting deity from H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. She works for the Space Defense Agency and explains that the creature after him is an alien called a Nightgaunt, which was planning to kidnap and sell him into slavery. After the rescue, Nyaruko falls head over heels for Mahiro and basically moves in, much to his horror. Soon they're joined by two more: Cthuko, who's obsessively devoted to Nyaruko, and Hasuta, a pretty boy who looks so feminine you'd swear he was a girl. The three of them work together to protect Mahiro and Earth from alien threats, but their idea of protecting him mostly involves making his life absolutely miserable.
