Synopsis

Aoi Tsubaki was abandoned by her mother as a child, but she had a gift: the ability to see ayakashi—spirits from the Hidden Realm. Her grandfather Shirou, who shared the same ability, raised her and taught her how to coexist peacefully with these creatures. When he dies unexpectedly, Aoi is left on her own to navigate college life while managing her interactions with the spirit world. She discovers that her one real tool for keeping the ayakashi at bay—and preventing them from hunting humans—is her talent for cooking. So she does what she can: she feeds the spirits that cross her path. One day, after sharing her lunch with a mysterious ayakashi, Aoi gets pulled into the Hidden Realm itself. The spirit reveals he's Oodanna, an ogre-god and the Master Innkeeper of a grand inn. He drops a bombshell: her grandfather left behind a massive debt of one hundred million yen, and Aoi was essentially put up as collateral. Marriage to Oodanna is supposedly the way to settle things. Aoi refuses outright. Instead, she strikes a deal—she'll pay off the debt herself by opening a restaurant at Oodanna's inn. What follows is her journey as she wins over the ayakashi residents one meal at a time, using the only real power she has: her cooking.
