Synopsis

Zagan is a young sorcerer with a scary reputation who's in the running to join the 13 Archdemons—basically the world's most powerful magic users—after one of them dies. While he's at an auction to bid on the dead Archdemon's stuff, he sees Nephelia, a rare elf slave, and falls for her instantly. He blows all his money to buy her and bring her back to his castle. The problem? Nephelia's got a mysterious and messed-up past that he's got to piece together. The real issue is that Zagan has no clue how to handle being in love, so things get pretty awkward between him and Nephelia—who he calls Nephy. But as they spend more time together and become comfortable around each other, it starts looking like Nephy might actually feel the same way about him.
